Norah, you can always take drinks from the bar outside to the patio. We usually have the bar doors open if the weather is nice. We also have music on Thursday nights. Thanks, James
Is that a question?
Myles, As some of our knowledgeable guests have mentioned below, we are now serving Vegan (dairy free) Cheese and Chocolate Fondues. We also can serve our other two courses (Salad & Entree) completely dairy free as well, we would just have to make a few substitutions for dressings and sauces. If you would like to dine with please just mention any dietary restrictions when reserving your table. Thanks - James
If you haven't had this type of dining experience before it's interesting. The food is good, the prices are good and the staff is super friendly and helpful especially with walking you through how to cook everything. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is that because of the layout of the smaller tables it's a real reach, even with long arms to reach the pot because it's not in the middle of the table like the bigger tables which are setup for three to four people. If possible try to sit there
What an amazing experience good food great experience you cook your own food. Sangria is awesome!!!!!
Always a great time when we go. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Never a bad experience.
If you want to spend time together as a family or go on a romantic date, the melting pot is for you. It is fondue style of self melting, cooking selections of lean beef and or seafood, pasta, chicken vegetarian main dishes. Then finishing with a fondue pot of melted chocolate of fine quality and a delectable assortment of cakes, cookies, fine fruits to dip. It is a must try for everyone. It's not a cheap dinner to your local diner, but well worth the quality of foods and time with your loved ones.
Mediocre at best. The cocktails were made poorly. The cheese fondue we ordered tasted like milk and wine, and the board of dipping items for it was pretty incohesive, sloppy, and poorly cut. The cooking styles were weird because they were really made to be sauces to garnish a meal, not poured in a pot to cook your food. I was also didsappointed in the vegetarian options. I know I can’t expect every restaurant to have a lot but I DO except to be able to eat at least a couple of things. I got the pasta of the day which was a ravioli with goat cheese. Unfortunately it was stuffed to the brim with spicy peppers, barely any goat cheese, and tasted really awful. They did have a magician that did tricks at your table. That was the only good part of the night.
Great for groups. We ordered our cheese course while still on the train and it was on the table when we arrived.
Mario is the best! Great server. Great knowledge. Awesome Valentines dinner w my love.
I LOVE this place! The setting, the food, the expierence and most importantly the staff! Never have I had a bad expierence here!
Overpriced, mediocre food. Disorganized service. Generic chain restaurant feel.
Awesome choice for a 1st or 100th date. Trendy, great food awesome chocolate fondue menu.
Excellent service and delicious food! I love their 4 course menu options. Highly recommend The Melting Pot in Darien!!
Night out with friends, it was our first time here. Food was very good, you cook your entrees yourself I didn't leave here stuffed nor hungry we had room for the dessert. Reccomend reservations which we had. Maybe a tad more expensive than other restaurants but not by much. We choose the 4 course which you can split with your other. Our server was great. I'll go back to try different cheeses the next time we want to fondue.
What an experience! Maria was our waitress she was awesome! She provided Feedback on the menu & checked in on us to make sure we were ok!
amazing food, good chocolate milk, brought out birthday pancakes for my brothers birthday complete suprise, 6/5 stars
Love The Melting Pot!!! I take my daughter on a date, everyone is so great with her.
Best place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or holidays. The food is amazing and the staff is super friendly
This is the fourth Melting Pot we've been to and it lived up to our expectations. The food was fantastic and the service incredibly pleasant. As always, dessert was our favorite course!
Very expensive but food is good and experience is awesome
Great food and our server Nick was excellent. He described all options and answered questions without hesitation. He even told a joke when we said our evenings choices were dinner or going to a comedy club!
Best place. Exceptional customer service! My new favorite
A great place to grab a bite to eat with friends or family. The menu can be a little too overwhelming at times and is not straight forward. Overall the food was tasty and filling. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Definitely worth trying even if you only go in just for the chocolate fondue dessert.
Fun and delicious food!! Always very accommodating to our needs, quick to bring more dippers if needed. We've had the same server for the last 3 times that we went in. He was fantastic and remembered us even though our visits were months apart. The whole experience is a little pricey but for special occasions it fits the bill.
Great staff, high quality meats and produce, and it's just plain fun with you friends/family. It's a bit of a drive for us, and more expensive then our average dinner out, but we'll worth it! 4 courses took almost 2 hours to enjoy, and at no time did we feel rushed by the staff.
Amazing experience! The staff is very nice and they decorated my table for a romantic dinner and I just loved it! That was my first time in a foundue restaurant and the staff made everything easy for me while explaining about the cooking process and the best combinations of ingredients.I tried the Sunday brunch and it includes a little bit of all they have in the menu for under $30 per person. At first I thought it wasn't enough food but they bring a little bit at time and by the end I was over satisfied. It was just perfect! I didn't take many photos because I was too busy enjoying the food :)
Fun family time. Enjoying the grilling.
The melting pot is currently doing a fundraiser for St. Jude's to help kids fighting cancer. Such a worthy cause. No kids should ever suffer from cancer.
We love eating out. Yesterday we visited this magnificent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We passed a delightful time there with fine food and a well-trained crew and a distinguished chief cook. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we will no doubt return very soon. We deeply recommend.
I wish I could eat here way more but I live too far away. The CHEESE!! 😍 There is a server we had I think his name is Carlos? He was amazing and the food is just off the chain. Perfect date night spot
Me and my wife went for New Years Eve dinner very nice experience.
It’s always a good experience
Fun place for a birthday dinner. You gotta cook your own food so no fifth star🙂
I've never had a bad experience at The Melting Pot. My family started going to them about 18 years ago. And literally not one time has anything been less than excellent. The wait staff is always knowledge, friendly, and attentive. The food is top notch. I particularly love their meat. I've tried every cooking style, but always go back to coq au vin. The California salad is literally the only salad I get at any restaurant at all. The candied walnuts and the raspberry vinaigrette are my favorite! And the cheese.. oh my goodness. If I was worried about my weight I would save meals just to eat here. I'm particularly partial to the Wisconsin Trio personally. It's excellent. The chocolate is, well, melted chocolate. Great quality for sure, but it's melted chocolate lol. Can you really go wrong with that? The atmosphere is so cozy and intimate, perfect for a date or higher end family outing. It's one of the only restaurants I truly get excited when I know I'm going.
Place isn't cheap but it was an awesome dining experience overall.
Another hefty price for a subpar meal. I suppose fondue just isn't for me. If you like dipping breads, fruits, and veggies in cheese, broth, or chocolate then this could be the place for you. Everything was underwhelming and pricey. It was definitely a fun and new experience so I'd like to say that it's worth trying at least once. The service was nice and attentive.
Delicious Fondue & Great Service ***** This was my third time at The Melting Pot and my friends first visit. Our waiter Brandon was fantastic. He was helpful with the menu and made great recommendations. We loved the wine we ordered as well. Looking forward to dining there again soon.
We brought the teenagers and the experience was very interactive for all.To start we had a Wisconsin cheese dip with some veggies and a variety of breads. We chose the classic selection which had a bit of everything for them to choose from to their liking. The chocolate dip with assorted fruit and some cut cake was a nice finish to our meal.
Amazing service. And melted cheese.
Honestly I had a great time, but if you can’t cook then your gonna get sick the next day but other than that everything is great, the desserts and salads are great!
Very unique place to dine. Warm cheese pot for starters, a neat collection of salads, hot boiling broth to cook your entrée & to top it all off a warm pot of chocolate to dip in all your deserts.
Probably very expensive (I was a guest but could only speculate as to the bill), but stupendous fondue selections over multiple courses, fine service from Brendan.
Always a great time and fabulous food! And tonight Magician Brian was walking around to entertain as well!
Ok people. The Melting Pot isn't a place you swing in for a quick bite to eat. Know that ahead of time. Bring a descent amount of money because this isn't a cheap place. The menu is confusing, but our waiter Mario did a great job explaining everything. He brought out a sample plate and pictures so we knew what we were ordering. I appreciated that. This menu seems complicating at first. If you are going for dinner pick the 4 course meal. You will spend 45 to 55 bucks and get a cheese fondue, salad ,entree, and dessert. If you are going for something specific and one course that is different story. If you are a bigger party (like 5 or more) be patient. This is a slow process. Its supposed to be fun and different. Enjoy!
Tried calling in to make a reservation for Valentines Day...They said they’re totally booked unless we buy the additional $100 Valentines package, then they would have table openings for any time. Personally I think it’s a terrible way to do business and will be going somewhere else instead. Besides that, I do like coming here occasionally, just not for Valentines Day anymore.
The only issue I have with this place is nowhere on its menu does it state that you cook your own food. One of my servers said that people get up and leave when they find out they cook cook for themselves. I don't blame them. If I wanted to cook my own food for my wife I would do it at home. Nonetheless the food is very tasty and the atmosphere is romantic. Just don't expect someone to bring you out your meal, just the raw ingredients.
Great food great service
A very unique and enjoyable dining experience. My first experience was in D.C. a few years ago. I was pleasantly surprised there is a restaurant in CT.Our church honored the men on Father's day. I think it's more enjoyable with a group.
I come here every year for New Year's Eve.... The food is so good. The server was so nice. I can only afford this place once a year, but hey, I'll take it
